his works Guru Nanak Dev was the main founder and first
Guru of Sikhism. He is considered as the first Guru and is the inspiration of Sikhs.
He was born on 15 April 1469 in Nankana Sahib (now in Nambra, Pakistan). Guru Nanak Dev inspired Sikhs to practice their ideals towards religion,
society and social justice. He dedicated his life as a saint and religious leader and his teachings laid the foundation of Sikhism.
Social harmony, excellence, service, and meditation played an important role in the teachings of Guru Nanak Dev.
He worked for the upliftment of humanity through saintly spirit and service.
He fought against casteism, anti-semitism, and superstition in society and he promoted the message of unity and equality among religious followers.
Guru Nanak Dev’s teachings gave the Sikh community a social, spiritual, and ordinary life direction.
