You will hardly find any definite date of Maharaja Ajmidh Ji’s birth anniversary anywhere, but in some places, it is mentioned as 13 October, or 19 October, but according to the government calendar, it is celebrated on 17 October, the birth anniversary of Maharishi Valmiki.
When we look into the history of any caste, the great men who appear like a beam of light are the source of strength and inspiration for that caste. The caste considers them as its patriarchs. Similarly, the Maidh Kshatriya Swarnakar Samaj considers Shri Maharaja Ajmidh Ji as its patriarch (Adi Purush). Based on historical information which is available in various forms at various places, we Maidh Kshatriyas find our lineage linked to Lord Vishnu. It is said that Brahma Ji was born from the navel-lotus of Lord Vishnu. Atri was born from Brahma Ji and Chandra-Som was born from the auspicious sight of Atri Ji.
Ajmidh Ji was born in the 28th generation of Chandravansh. Maharaja Ajmidh Ji was born at the end of Treta Yug. He was not only a contemporary of Maryada Purushottam but was also his best friend. His grandfather was Maharaja Shri Hasti who had established the famous Hastinapur. Maharaja Ajmidh Ji was born from the womb of Vikunthan, son of Maharaja Hasti and Dasha princess Maharani Sudeva. Among his many brothers, Purumidh and Dwimidh became especially famous. Dwimidhji’s lineage had famous kings like Marnan, Kritiman, Satya and Dhriti. Purumidhji did not have any children. Maharaja Ajmidh had two queens Sumit and Nalini. They had four
sons, Brihadishu, Rish, Priyamev and Neel.
In this way, Maharaja Ajmidhji’s lineage kept on growing, and gotras and sub-gotras started being named after different sons, grandsons and great-grandsons. Apart from Hastinapur, Maharaja Ajmidh ji established the area around Ajmer as a state by the name of Maidhavart and did many welfare works there.
Maharaja Ajmidh Chowk has been inaugurated in Karnal, and the statue of Maharaja Ajmidh has also been unveiled.
श्री अजमीढ़ जी महाराज का इतिहास
महाराजा अजमीढ़ जी की जयंती की कोई निश्चित तिथि आपको शायद ही कहीं मिलेगी, लेकिन कुछ स्थानों पर इसे 13 अक्टूबर, या 19 अक्टूबर के रूप में वर्णित किया गया है, लेकिन सरकारी कैलेंडर के अनुसार, यह 17 अक्टूबर को मनाई जाती है। महर्षि वाल्मीकि की जयंती। जब हम किसी भी जाति के इतिहास पर नज़र डालते हैं, तो प्रकाश की किरण की तरह दिखाई देने वाले महापुरुष उस जाति के लिए शक्ति और प्रेरणा का स्रोत होते हैं। जाति उन्हें अपना कुलगुरु मानती है। इसी तरह मैढ़ क्षत्रिय स्वर्णकार समाज श्री महाराजा अजमीढ़ जी को अपना कुलगुरु (आदि पुरुष) मानता है।
ऐतिहासिक जानकारी के आधार पर जो विभिन्न स्थानों पर विभिन्न रूपों में उपलब्ध है, हम मैढ़ क्षत्रिय अपनी वंशावली भगवान विष्णु से जुड़ी हुई पाते हैं। ऐसा कहा जाता है कि ब्रह्मा जी का जन्म भगवान विष्णु के नाभि-कमल से हुआ था। ब्रह्मा जी से अत्रि का जन्म हुआ और अत्रि जी की शुभ दृष्टि से चंद्र-सोम का जन्म हुआ। अजमीढ़जी का जन्म चंद्रवंश की २८वीं पीढ़ी में हुआ था। महाराजा अजमीढ़जी का जन्म त्रेता युग के अंत में हुआ था। वे मर्यादा पुरुषोत्तम के समकालीन ही नहीं थे, अपितु उनके परम मित्र भी थे। उनके दादा महाराजा श्री हस्ति थे, जिन्होंने प्रसिद्ध हस्तिनापुर की स्थापना की थी। महाराजा अजमीढ़जी का जन्म महाराजा हस्ति और दश राजकुमारी महारानी सुदेवा के पुत्र विकुंठन के गर्भ से हुआ था। उनके अनेक भाइयों में पुरुमीढ़ और द्विमीढ़ विशेष रूप से प्रसिद्ध हुए।
द्विमीढ़जी के वंश में मर्णण, कृतिमान, सत्य और धृति जैसे प्रसिद्ध राजा हुए। पुरुमीढ़जी की कोई संतान नहीं थी। महाराजा अजमीढ़ की दो रानियाँ थीं सुमित और नलिनी। उनके चार पुत्र थे, बृहदिषु, ऋष, प्रियमेव और नील। इस प्रकार महाराजा अजमीढ़जी का वंश बढ़ता गया और विभिन्न पुत्रों, पौत्रों और प्रपौत्रों के नाम पर गोत्र और उपगोत्र रखे जाने लगे। हस्तिनापुर के अलावा महाराजा अजमीढ़ जी ने अजमेर के आसपास के क्षेत्र को मैधावर्त नाम से एक राज्य के रूप में स्थापित किया तथा वहां अनेक कल्याणकारी कार्य किए।
करनाल में महाराजा अजमीढ़ चौक का उद्घाटन किया गया है, तथा महाराजा अजमीढ़ की प्रतिमा का अनावरण भी किया गया है।
